Rainbow Valley Pony and Goat Sanctuary
Background
The sanctuary, set up in 1996 is independently managed on a daily basis jointly by Lin East and her husband Alan along with a small group of volunteers and supporters.
The aim of the sanctuary is to:
nurse sick and neglected ponies and goats,
offer temporary homing during human illness or difficult circumstances,
rehome (loan) ponies and goats,
raise money to support the animals through sponsorship and events,
raise awareness of animal welfare.
We specialise in Dartmoor Foals, bought from the local drift sales at Tavistock and Chagford. We buy the youngest and the weakest foals and bring them to Rainbow Valley where they receive veterinary care in addition to regular handling/education. When mature enough, we aim to find them suitable homes where they can live useful lives. However, the very old and disabled stay at Rainbow Valley for life with the help of sponsorship.
We care 7 days a week, 365 days a year

All the animals receive individual daily care and attention to suit their health and dietary requirements. Without the support of the general public the services would not be able to continue and many animals would continue to suffer or be neglected.
